Why is this ice journey so dangerous for Kona? Why is he willing to take such a  "very big risk" ? Who would take that kind of risk for you?  Why?

It is dangerous trying to travel on ice, either by foot or in a vehicle. But Kona can just feel that something is wrong. Stumpy and her babies are like family to Kona. I think most of us would take a big risk for those we love.

Kona and Gwendolyn know that something is wrong. Animals seem to know when something is wrong. Kona loves Stumpy so he is taking a big risk to help her.
I would take a big risk for my loved ones.

I think Kona is willing to save stumpy because he wants her and her babys to be safe and warm. I think my mom or dad would take that risk for me but I wouldn’t let them because I would be scared if I were in an ice storm!

Going anywhere in an ice storm is extremely dangerous, but Kona feels like Stumpy and her babies are family, and most of us would take a very big risk to save our families if they needed us.
