Chapter 9: Rescue and Remorse
Kona admired the beauty of the ice storm. "He was moved and strengthened by the beauty around him." Have you ever experienced an ice or snow storm? What do you remember about the wonder and beauty of it? Or have you ever been so thankful to be home after a long journey? Describe that feeling.

One of my favorite snow memories is from a ski trip with my dad in Colorado. It had snowed for two days straight. After it stopped, we went night tubing. The moon was bright, and the reflection on the snow made it look like it was daylight outside. We rode inner tubes down a big hill. It was super fun! Everything sparkled. I will never forget that special beauty.

When my boys were in Middle School we had an ice storm. We were out of school for a long time! I can remember driving to the gas stations to get gas for our generator. All the gas stations were closed that evening. Eureka Springs was beautiful! It was like a winter wonderland! Everything sparkled and the trees were heavy with ice!

I remember walking through the woods the day after a bad ice storm one year. The sun was out and everything sparkled like glass, and it was so quiet you could hear every creak of the trees. It was really very magical.

When we went to Florida I was thankful to get home because it was such a long drive and we were crowded in a small seat. Over all though we had fun and played games!😊
